For normal packets it won't make much difference as there's often only a couple of people on the large.wallan wrote:If every thing goes as planned , shoe box size & above will circulate through one of two ( possibly three ) Parcel / Packet Hubs , ie Atherstone or Warrington
When they arrive at the Inward M C or RDC they will be in Direct Yorks to the Delivery Office , this must reduce the amount of sorting at the Outward & Inward M C,s
Will the hubs scan the barcodes of any Tracked that passes through them?
The hubs need to get used to the idea of also having packets come through that are smaller than a shoe box size, the separation of small from large by every MC is s**t. I don't think RDCs are too much better for yorks where stuff has entered the system direct at an RDC

Stopped reading at this point. A load of hard-left bollocks that will never happen until Jeremy Corbyn has been PM for at least 20 years.

Well the irony is the renationalisation of at least parts of Royal Mail may not be a left-wing solution but one driven by shareholder greed.Schiff wrote:The renationalisation rubbish.Woody Guthrie wrote:If you stopped reading at the first sentence how do you know it was a load of hard-left bollocks?Schiff wrote:

If the country still wants a USO and the business and its shareholders are unwilling to provide it at a loss the loss making part may well be dumped back in the government's lap in the same way that most of the rail network has.
Hard-right bollocks eh?

Then as with Education & Health to name but two Postal Services could be Devolved to the Four UK Parlimiaments for them to decide what level of service they were willing to subsidise in there countriesWoody Guthrie wrote:Well the irony is the renationalisation of at least parts of Royal Mail may not be a left-wing solution but one driven by shareholder greed.Schiff wrote:The renationalisation rubbish.Woody Guthrie wrote:If you stopped reading at the first sentence how do you know it was a load of hard-left bollocks?Schiff wrote:

UNION MAKES CONCESSIONS AS TALKS BEGIN WITH ROYAL MAIL
Its not the right time to be making negotiations with Royal Mail. Due to the pandemic with businesses going to the wall, higher unemployment and uncertainty that all plays into Royal Mail's favour. New Chairman/CEO makes an instant impact with 2,000 job losses, then we are losing a million quid a day in April, office revisions to improve our "efficiency" to then being told our revenue has gone up massively with increased parcel traffic but proportionally so has our COSTS. The Royal Mail propaganda machine has just started and expect it to go into overdrive during the next few weeks.
Let us look at this another way.
- Letters have been in terminal decline for YEARS. If we lost money on letters this year its the fact that most businesses have been closed!! Er Doh
- Was we losing a million quid a day lat year? No - Why? Oh my, its because there wasn't a pandemic. And it probably isn't going to be as devastating next year.
- How are office revisions going to save money?? Bigger duties are not always the answer. Our office had to put duties back in because the work wasn't getting covered. It went on overtime so unless the Lino's are going to do it.....

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
