Royal Mail has announced it's trialling a brand new delivery service in the UK.

Throughout the next six months, the postal company will trial the use of electric vans for parcel and letter deliveries.

Royal Mail is partnering with the London Electric Vehicle Company to trial its new VN5 prototype electric van, based on a London taxi cab.

The postal company is aiming to cut emissions with the new partnership.

Trials will be held on delivery rounds in largely urban areas.

These include Birmingham, Derby, Leeds, Edinburgh and Bristol to start with.

London Electric Vehicle Company is trialling the vehicle with 25 companies ahead of the official launch of its new VN5 electric van later this year.

Fleet director at Royal Mail, Paul Gatti, said: "We are committed to making changes to our operations that reduce our environmental impact, whilst ensuring we continue to meet customer expectations.

"Alongside the introduction of electric vans in locations across our business, this trial is part of a programme of initiatives that allow us to experiment with ways to achieve this, whilst enabling us to continue to deliver letters and parcels safely, efficiently and responsibly."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
