He must also pay compensation
A fraudster who fled from Bozeat's Post Office after a scam involving changing bank notes has been jailed.
Baron Calugaren, 31, entered the London Road shop at about 12.45pm on May 12 and approached the Post Office counter, where he asked for £900 in £20 notes to be changed into £10 notes.
An employee told Calugaren, of Dallow Road in Luton, she could only change £800 but when she had done so he told her she had done it wrong and wanted the cash in euros instead.
Police said that when the employee checked the drawer she didn't have enough euros, so Calugaren asked for his original money back and he was given the £20 notes.
But he had failed to return all of the £10 notes and when challenged he fled and drove off.
Earlier this month magistrates in Northampton jailed him for 16 weeks because he "deliberately targeted a small rural Post Office".
He must pay compensation of £380, court costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.
