Supplement and lump sums.

Post by aled34 »

Hello there. I will be retiring at 60 In about 5 years (Section c- will be 38 years service). Does the NR 60 supplement payment get added to my total pension fund when working out my 25% lump sum. Had also thought to maybe retiring at 61 to tie in with my wife’s 60th so we can both retire on same day, but not if this messes with my lump sum calculations.

Yes the supplement is added to your 'total pot value' when working out the maximum 25% tax free cash. Details on page 12 of the plan guide: https://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/ ... ages_0.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When you retire is up to you, but please don't even think about not taking your NRA60 at 60. You won't get any more pension for doing so, you'll just lose 12 months worth of payments!
