I think the majority of us that have delivered in the dark have done so for 'our customers' and/or so the frame doesn't get stacked up with multiple days of mail. Morale is lower than it ever has been so I very much doubt any of us have done so for RMs or Rico's benefit.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

Still can't believe anyone is going over, its only a few weeks ago they shafted us,and in the New Year they are going to shaft us again. Only a few years for me to go ,but failure to stand up for yourselves now will not bode well for the future,i feel sorry for the younger one's who are going to end up with worse pay and conditions.Still Xmas brings out the worst in lots of people where money becomes god so don't believe those guys in the office who say they are doing it for the customers :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

At the end of the day we as Posties basically get an extra £200 plus whatever you get as Tips to "Deliver Christmas to our Customers"

£200 if you're F/T, less if you're P/T, and then most of us will get taxed and NI'd on it.....bah humbug.....

Quite Correct YB ... Lets not forget our PT colleagues, of which there are more and more. They get an EVEN worse deal than FTers...... "Pro-Rata" ... I hate that word :thumbdown I'm not sure how many of our PTers were Temporarily Made Up to FULL TIME this Christmas. :hmmmm In previous years I've known some of them get well shafted when they were still basically PT, and dipped out on the Higher Payments. :no no Happened to me a couple of times before I wised up and made Bloody sure I had an Agreement from the DOM. :cuppa

wages query

Post by lin1 »

I’ve only been working for Royal Mail a few weeks so not sure about wages.
I’ve received my wage today which says for w/c 16-12-19. I worked my day off which was Saturday 21st. Should this be in the wage I received today?

Assuming by "wage today" you mean this week's pay slip showing a payment date on 27/12/19 - I got mine today.

No - We were told all overtime worked after 0900hrs on Fri 20th would be paid a week later, got this week's pay slip today and it only has overtime from Mon to Thu on it. Normally you would have got it but over Christmas the pay system dates change a bit. You should have claimed overtime for your working your day off on the day you worked it.

Wet wet wet today, but not feeling that 'love is all around'. Still loads of Christmas cards and yes, a good percentage unfranked. I think the combination of loads of parcels, the PDA problems, crap weather and the s**t going on with the 'dispute', 'sgot me feelin' down man!
It's the most....wonderful time.....of the year......(for the fortunate few). Anyway there's always someone worse off....Hope tomorrow is a good day for all!

 That's a bit of a surprise. It's one thing if you've agreed to do something for a Customer .... It's another to expect your Cover to do it as well. :no no When I cover someone else's Duty "All Bets are Off". :cuppa

Hammered with Amazon parcels of all sizes today, they must still be struggling to clear.
