You're quite right GRS parcels often left unfranked. The most I've seen on one of my Duties Parcels was £25. I will not deliver for FREE, so make sure I manually endorse every piece of mail I deliver. If it takes a bit of time ... then so be it. RM pay for it. It's a bit of a joke in the Office and people will often point out an un-franked parcel and say, "Here's one for you .... do you want to get your pen out"?

Inward Primary Sorting: When everyon'e stood in front of the "Pidgeon Holes" sorting all the Un-Meched mail into different duties. Some Posties are really fast & professional and can sort loads. Others are just Lazy Bastards that spend most of the time chatting to their mates, or going off to see the DOM about their Leave, Duties, Ailments (basically anything so they don't have to sort) If the DOM says, "Come and see me AFTER you've finished IPS they surprisingly have nothing to discuss".

Stood at door doing quick flick through and noticed two unfranked stamps on cards, crossed them out, recipient saw me
and seemed to be quite aggrieved and demanded why did you cross out those stamps? !!!!! "Just doing my job mate", had a little
chuckle to myself, made my day (but then I'm easily pleased....!!!)
Made me laugh to think of him sitting in his kitchen trying to steam off a couple of stamps to try and save just over a quid....!
I’d never really noticed or bothered until I read it on here, but looking at todays Mail it is very rare to find a franked stamp, I’d feel like the Christmas grinch scribbling on stamps.

As I said if you're walking up that driveway with unfranked mail you're basically giving them a FREE Service.

That's just one couple with letters! The amount of revenue lost via undocumented and under paid ppi must be crazy too. I do collections and will refuse any without correct paperwork, but what is actually declared on that paperwork is a different matter. None of us have ever been trained about revenue protection as far as I know so we really wouldn't know what to look for anyway.
Why should us postmen be franking stamps that should be done in the mail centre.
We are there to deliver the letters and not be getting out a pen every other call crossing off letters in the pouring rain.
If the Mail Centres aren't doing it to save money why should we be doing it on delivery as we have enough to do with all the extras we have been given . It seems to me that delivery have been given more and more to do each day and the Mail Centres have been given less

We just don't have the staff anymore. Very rare for there not to be a shift without half a dozen casuals. Late shift staff are probably being told early on in a shift to stop cancelling stamps and focus on just sorting the mail to make sure it goes out the door on time
The problem with revenue protection if they were that good at doing the job they should do then they would not need them, It is like the key stone cops of the 1920's they clown around and cannot or will not do their own jobs. It is as if failure is the default option for them!

Same on Delivery as well but the butt stops with us to get all the s**t. Guess what!! we are the same as you at the Mail Centre with staff cuts as well and hours reduced, but we cant move it down the line like you as there is nobody else.
