f***ing bummer.
I did the same thing my hand was full so I put the key down on my next bundle. I turned round for some reason having my back to the van and a gust of wind blew my door shut . Good job my phone was in my pocket.
I also did the same in my misses car. She bought me a xbox for christmas I went too put the shopping in the boot, dropped everything in there including the keys and shut the boot. Wife wasn't impressed and my dad wasn't for doing a 30 mile round trip to drop the spare key off
Absolutely, crazy, heavy, wet, horrible day! Got called into DOM's office and told, albeit nicely and politely, to stop being so negative. He asked me "how are you going to be out 'till 16:00 today?", my reply was its heavy, Monday was bad, finished about 15:30 Monday (rest day Tuesday) anyway his reply was the usual, like, other people managed to get back at a reasonable time. Anyway, guess what my last letter time was today (I do a town delivery with a trolley)? 15:51!! And that was with having a street and few packets taken off me! By the time I locked trolley up in garage and got home it was nearly 16:15 (I live 5 mins away luckily for me!) Not even December yet, so sick of this job 10 years later :(....
Short staffed and no dedicated packet drivers this year so things are starting to back up already, told to leave non tracked behind for agency people to delivery and the packets are still there the next day. Fair bit of cut off coming back and some walks not been out for a couple of days. Christmas is going to be a big fat fail at our place this year.
It is very heavy, especially given the amount of election leaflets. Really heavy bundles hence LWT all day long as Im not a fan of breaking my own back. Tomorrow should be alright tho as nearly all the election stuff already boxed in and delivered (one party still to arrive)

Not really that busy then, finishing before 4pm. You wanna try getting back at half five, Messing about for the last hour and a bit in pitch black (rural, very very poor lighting). Presumably you start at 7 or are you still an office with early starts.
Really cant understand anyone who would walk over their time,i start and go home the same time everyday,we are not the emergency services, why do people on here moan everyone has a choice .

I like my walk and don't want to be moved off it, so I finish it off. I see light at the end of the tunnel, retirement in a few yrs.

Why would they take you off it ? surely you have a union rep who would say they can't do it. Maybe you could contact an area rep that is purely bullying and harassment

Many of the posties in our delivery office are catching on to that fact that the CWU is becoming a bunch of useless pillocks. The bullying and harassment from Royal Mail management hasn't abated at all. In fact, it's getting worse, and not due to the busy season this time of year; the problem has exponentially worsened for months.
Our local rep? All talk and no action. He's been like this long before this current dispute between RM Group and the CWU. And the area rep? The same. Quite frankly, many of the posties including myself are looking at dropping our membership. There's no point paying the union fee for zilch support.

I feel sorry for you guys our union rep is the best, always jumping in and defending us, the whole office has walked out on numerous occasions to stand up for our fellow workers, next time you get to vote for your area rep you know what to do or have a vote of no confidence and demand head office remove them, but its not just down to reps sometimes you have to help yourself, get together with your work colleagues and talk over what you can do as a collective group (if you know what i mean)

You all must be more than happy with your rep otherwise you'd gone through the no confidence vote process and voted for a new rep
Worst xmas ever and its still early doors . Mail being left by half the office ,arguements , bust ups, aggresion, some staff out till 8pm! . Mail still in frames next day yet heard theyv bin told to cut down on overtime hence ppl not asked to work day off or come in early . (Unless youre a fave ) . The b and h was one of the reasons we got the huge 97 & strike vote yet its even worse now! Rip a once great public service .

Brutal end to the election material, even for a Wednesday there were so many calls that were simply getting rid of party leaflets on the final day. So glad that extra bit of Xmas mayhem is all over and please let it be the last Xmas election for several decades!

Thank the holy Jesus that's over. All that crap likely in recycling bins across the country right now. Walked 10 miles delivering to hundreds of houses only to piss people off.
