RMtv : Parcel sorting machines and the people behind them
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The end of the video mentioned RM wanted 40 PSM by 2023/24 (no mention if they were the same machines).

That's not far off enough for 1 per MC. Don't know if every MC could fit one in, think Truro might be too smalldandydon wrote:The end of the video mentioned RM wanted 40 PSM by 2023/24 (no mention if they were the same machines).

Lets hope not. 79 usable yorks is nowhere near enough for a biggish Mail Centres inward operation.dandydon wrote:The end of the video mentioned RM wanted 40 PSM by 2023/24 (no mention if they were the same machines).

Greenford MC has one and it is great with clearly addressed easy to read mail. It cannot sort the Chinese packets as it rejects 92% of them back onto manual and struggles with much Tracked Mail because of return addresses. The biggest problem is the fact it doesn't kick out the need to be sorted manual mail right until the end of the shift causing pressure on this area at the end of each shift.

Solystic did have this for Chinese stuff but it's gone from their website as a productdenhamhoop wrote:Greenford MC has one and it is great with clearly addressed easy to read mail. What does it do with the manual mail that it kicks out?denhamhoop wrote:The biggest problem is the fact it doesn't kick out the need to be sorted manual mail right until the end of the shift causing pressure on this area at the end of each shift.

What does it do with the manual mail that it kicks out?[/quote]
It goes down a shute where a Postie has to put it into Sleeves Manually and then its wheeled onto the Manual sorting and believe me it's all the hardest to read stuff that ideally you would sort at the start of a shift

hey, the illusion of efficiency then making the few workers left work even harder than ever...living the dream of the modern robotic AI machine age...THEY DON'T GET TIRED, need a welfare room/canteen/food/bogs./holidays or require PAY/ Pensions/ BONUSES..just their arse wiping by the unfortunate buggers who have to mop-up whatever it kicks out. some gig that...no terms and conditions at all.

Those sound like the ejects which are unsuitable for the machine and so are thrown down the chutes by the staff on the belts. These items should be sent to manual during the shift and not stored on the machine. Sounds like poor management to me. The same with No Reads and Rejects which also go back to manual sort.denhamhoop wrote: It goes down a shute where a Postie has to put it into Sleeves Manually and then its wheeled onto the Manual sorting and believe me it's all the hardest to read stuff that ideally you would sort at the start of a shift

Most of the york's are f****d so the machines will soon be damaged beyond repair by their own lack of investment in the system we don't need Luddites with the actions of the CEO and his minions!
