Labours 10.50p minimum wage and PSE
I take that if Labour's £10.50 minimum wage comes in it will severely diminish our ability to save extra money into our Pensions.

You are right. We can't use salary sacrifice arrangements if the resultant pay would be less than minimum wage. It isn't just pension payments that will affect how much we can contribute. Other My Bundle options will impact as well.milly wrote:I take that if Labour's £10.50 minimum wage comes in it will severely diminish our ability to save extra money into our Pensions.
This is one policy that would certainly leave many of us worse off. When Labour say that they want to hit the rich it seems like it is us that they are talking about.

A lot of Labour's economic plans on closer examination is actually worse than the soundboard would have you to know.
If implemented in its entirety would set back our economy all the way to the 70s with massive debts while the wealth generators pack their bags and leave taking their money with them, we the ordinary workers would be left picking up the tab.
We've been here in this situation before in 1983, this is a rerun, feels like a timeloop.

Increasing the minimum wage will benefit millions. A small price to pay if we lose some PSE benefits.

1. When was anything thrown about during an election ever implemented in its entirity? We haven't even seen Labour's manifesto.
2. We already have massive debts, eye-watering numbers that'll never be paid back, doesn't seem to worry most Tories.
3. 'Wealth creators?' WTF are they? Most of the major employers in this country are either foreign owned, state owned or Pension fund owned. Wealth creators are actually those at the sharp end like us and we're getting shafted.
4. In my opinion this is nothing like 1983, nationally or globally, the world has changed and is constantly changing. Despite what you think you can't turn the clock back and live that time again. There's a global shitstorm coming and something radical needs to be done. I'm not saying Corbyn is the answer, I've already said I'm not a fan but the status quo which is what the tories are offering won't hold for much longer.
Also don't threaten doom and gloom without either showing your working or simply starting your diatribe with 'In my opinion' it's good forum etiquette.

Labours policies are based on Growth of the economy and using the economy to its full capacity. After 9 years of Tory underfunding we need investment based policies to help the economy grow.
Complaining about PSE benefit when Labour will renationalize RM which will benfit us hugely is just plain stupid. If Labour come into power they are going to level the playing field by reforming zero hour contracts, £10.50 minimum wage, self employed contract abuse ect and we will be in a better position to negotiate our labour. If the Tories are reelected then slowly we will lose our employment rights as is happening now and we will be competing with Yodel Amazon Hermes on their present terms and conditions. Its just plain stupid for Royal Mail employees to not vote Labour. You might be close to retirement and think f*×+ it I'm leaving soon but remember the NHS is being primed for privatisation and you won't be able to afford private health care.

It would never happen, it's just 1970's dogmatic wishful thinking."anini"Labour will renationalize RM which will benfit us hugely is just plain stupid. .
Corbyn would have more pressing issues to deal with than worrying about renationalising RM, and even if he were to, how would there be any benefit (huge or otherwise) to the staff?
Do you think it would ever return to those halcyon days of ghost overtime, double time and a second delivery?

If RM was renationalized then they wouldn't have to pay out profits to shareholders. They'll just have to make a profit. The profit that was going to the shareholders can be halved between staff remuneration and investment in the company.

F*×+ let's ensure the Tories get reelected. We'll all have a rosie future. After all they really care about the working class and their concerns. They will ensure the working class get a decent wage, protect our NHS, increase pensions to the ripe young age of 75, go after tax dodgers, ensure financial institutions don't legally de-fraud us before we go to collect our pensions, move the country away from property speculation.
Just remember when us when you're a pensioner and waiting to be seen on a trolley in the corridors of the depleted NHS because your pension isn't enough to buy better private healthcare due to pre-existing conditions. Just remember you put the country's future in the hands of the working class heroes Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson and Jacob Reese Mogg. Just pat yourself on the back. Bravo. Tory till I die ( 10 years before your richer counterparts )

It's not that the Tories are attractive in any shape or form, more that Corbyn is an electoral liability and has been for years. If you believe that Corbyn is any sort of solution to the problem that is the Tories then (just as with your desire for RM renationalisation) you're in for a rude awakening.anini wrote:F*×+ let's ensure the Tories get reelected. Well said. Unfortunately I work with labour supporters who actually believe this crap. They have a deep seated hatred of anyone who has any money. I will never understand the mentality of people who don't like it because someone has more than them. The people who I refer to in my office are just about the laziest I've come across. They moan about others having more and expect the Labour party to level the playing field for them. The modern day Labour supporter doesn't seem to have any real link to the TRUE Labour of old. On the subject of the minimum wage, by the time Labour get in the £10.50 will not be enough anyway.Tman wrote:It's not that the Tories are attractive in any shape or form, more that Corbyn is an electoral liability and has been for years. Corbyn is a huge admirer of Chavez and Maduro of Venezuela which has the largest known Oil reserves on the planet and yet it is extremely poor thanks to their crackpot socialist policies that no doubt Corbyn will try to emulate.anini wrote:Labours policies are based on Growth of the economy and using the economy to its full capacity. Its an economic myth that the Tories are good for business. Look at the growth rates under Labour and then under Tories post war.
The tories are for BIG business. Just go and ask the SME that were screwed over in the RBS Grg scandal or the Lloyd's countering signatures. Not one person went to jail. We have FPTP and it's either Tory or Labour. We work for RM. Our interest lies in having a strong union, Strong Union rights, secure employment. Why any member would cut off their nose to spite their face and vote Tory is beyond me. All I can say is the Rich have done a stellar job of making the working man vote against his own interest. They'll be laughing all the way to the bank at the numpties who voted for then and won't benefit. I seems the propaganda or the Media barons is paying dividends. The joke is on you.
