You could maybe try the research department at the CWU - research@cwu.org - to see if they have this information? Closest I could find was this old research brief with the percentage pay rise each year from 1985 to 1997 but it doesn't give you the actual rates

I'm sad enough to have kept all my pay slips over the years - don't ask me why! :hmmmm

My pay for a week in September 1993 was:

Basic pay - 85.81(21 hours) - 4.08 per hour
UPAP - 5.57
Driving - 9.12
Saturday Premium - 7.15
Plus some weekday OT, Saturday OT & Saturday premium OT and HDS(households/D2D)

My deductions were:

Income tax - 22.59
NIC's - 9.40
Pension - 4.42
UCW subs - 1.24

Other info:

Pay rate - 169.55(presumably full time equivalent) - 41.5 hours per week?
Tax code - 0344L or £3,440(personal tax allowance)

All a bit different from now!

I hope that helps

1993 was the year I started, used to work at YDC in Morley. You could get as much docket as you wanted, I remember doing 70 hour weeks regularly, weekly pay....good times!

I think about £280 take home, per week, full time in today's money adjusting only for inflation.
