We have the GPS function on the PDAs. RM use that to prove items have been delivered if customers query the fact.SpacePhoenix wrote:What happens is something goes wrong and they deny receiving it? I have pressed these RING doorbells a couple of times recently but no one answered or anything. Seem to be more of them appearing on doors at the moment.cpsteve wrote:And while your doing this other delivery companies will be taking our business and we will lose jobs. This is actually completely incorrect. The purpose of Ring doorbells isn't to help Royal Mail converse with customers.cpsteve wrote:And while your doing this other delivery companies will be taking our business and we will lose jobs. The purpose of Ring doorbells, is for Amazon to normalise the harvesting of front door data, to make customers comfortable with Amazon using that data, and then ultimately to make Amazon the gatekeepers of the front door.
The Amazon Door lock will be coming to a house near you very soon. It'll give their own couriers easy access, but tell RM to f**k off.

Why ring when we can knock?
I just knock - they still can hear and answer the door.

I own my intellectual image rights so if I press a Ring Doorbell I have to serve them with an immediate cease and desist order otherwise I'm going to have to sue them for copyright infringement.

You mean I've been sticking my tongue out for nothing? I figured that was more job-secure than giving the finger.Sledge4211 wrote:You can only view footage if you pay for the subscription
Get one of those riot helmets with the plastic visor and print a copyright notice onto it, so it functions like a real-life watermark. The terms and conditions of use should state that: by storing this sequence of images on their servers; Amazon and its subsidiaries, shareholders, and affiliates surrender all claims to those images in perpetuity. Furthermore, storing the image of these terms shall constitute agreement. Etc.Woody Guthrie wrote:I own my intellectual image rights so if I press a Ring Doorbell I have to serve them with an immediate cease and desist order otherwise I'm going to have to sue them for copyright infringement.

We were told about that one last week I think in WTLL or a 'huddle'. I had someone talking to me the other week through the RING doorbell without me pressing it but standing near the front door. So we all have to operate under the assumption that these devices are always on and filming us. We were advised not to swear or say things like 'hurry up' etc if there is a RING doorbell fitted.twoloops wrote:Careful

Another house on my walk has a small CCTV type camera attached to the corner of the wall high up facing the front door. Recently when I knocked the door as they had parcels I heard a voice talking to me which was coming from the camera. In short you never can be sure if you are being filmed or not nowadays.

Just like any other doorbell, give them a few months and the lovely UK weather will render them defunct!

RING Video doorbell
If I know they’re out I won’t ring them, I’ll just give the door a clout instead.
Had a couple of situations where I have rang one of these door bells and had to stand there for a good few mins having a pointless conversation over a packet/parcel.
One woman was on the afternoon school run. Pressed the bell and she was going mad because I wouldn’t wait 15 or 20 mins for her to get home. She was going ape because she really needed this parcel and I was being awkward for not waiting. I’d already tried neighbors so I had l no choice but to card it. She was still giving off as I was writing the card out.
So yeah....if they’re not in, I’m not ringing them!

Do you not leave your house then because CCTV is everywhere and you don’t have any “privacy” rights with regards to being filmed in publicmags999 wrote:nobody is videoing me when I knock at their door that's your your privacy infringed so they can pisss off with that
