Leaving packets with neighbours

Maybe it could be a set-up/scam? The neighbours could be in on this and not only recieve the package but also claim for undelivered item.

I feel like a premier league footballer that's been caught doing 40 in a 30 zone! Everyone tutting but have almost certainly done it themselves.

Last Wednesday 31st July my wife took a RM delivered parcel for a neighbour opposite our house, its now a week and it's still in my hall, they are not away because I've seen them in & out the house, with me being a postman could I put another 739 though their letterbox telling them it's across the road or could I just return it back to our delivery office & kill it off? Normally we refuse to take in any parcels for neighbours & there is no way I will be walking over there to deliver it, so you can see my predicament? Got my postman head on inside & outside of work?

You'll happily walk over a re post a 739, but you won't take the parcel and deliver it, even though you're going there anyway

If you see they are in, just walk over and hand them their parcels, what`s the problem?
And don`t take neighbors parcels in next time if is such a hassle

I didn't the wife did, they know I'm a postman, they probably expect me to take it over because I'm a postman, but in my own time I'm not the postman,my office do not even cover this area,I'm going to try & give it back to my postman,he'll sort it.

Maybe they didn't get a card because it went missing somehow, it happens. Just take it over there for them. It's the neighbourly thing to do.

Get your wife to take it over while you're in the garden playing on the swings.

A small percentage of people are like this. I have one address on my walk where the people are like this so the neighbours refuse to take in their parcels. You just have to 739 their parcels if they are not in or don't answer the door.
Another common one is teenagers at home refusing to get out of bed in the middle of the day to answer the door. It's just one of those things.

Get a grip will you and take the parcel over the road and deliver it to them! For gods sake!

Maybe the postman didnt put a note through letting the recipient know the parcel has been left at yours as he/she knows your a postman and would think you would pop over with the parcel when you see they are home as any normal person would do! I'm so glad none of my neighbours are like you

I’m with you my friend,luckily my rural delivery I’ve got to know all my customers and what to do with parcels packets and deliver to neighbors etc,and works just fine,they embrace consistency and familiarity,not easy for everyone I fully appreciate,but on reading posts on here,I feel at times we are over thinking things,it’s become a minefield at every step almost wanting to catch you out to make a point.
