I carry dog biscuits in my van.
What if that dog is allergic to that kind of biscuit and dies.

This really cheeses me off - what about the cover/reserve who has to cover your round, doesn't know
whether a dog is friendly or not and doesn't have the biscuits and has a excited dog bouncing around
him/her because you normally give it biscuits - only for the owner to say (and how
many times have I heard this) 'He's only being friendly, the other postie gives him a biscuit' FFS

Also what happens if it's an old dog and it breaks teeth on biscuits you've given it? Are you happy to pay for vets bill?

I know this has died a dog's death but why would any responsible owner allow a dog contact whilst it is unsupervised dog's are animals same as cats and rats just because you own a pet and you look after it don't assume we all have to feed and pander to your pet any pet can be a pest!

Unlikely for a dog to be allergic to dog biscuits.

RM standard rule is if you worried about anything dangerous on a property be it an animal, a building site, or whatever you are not to enter and should return the mail.

or do you just carry on walking up to the house/owner to hand over the post like the dog isn't there?

Is there anyway to calm these dogs down so they know you are no threat?

The usual level of incompetence - got in after being on leave last week to discover it was my day off (really nice of them to let me know - as a reserve I never know when my day off is until the Thurs/Fri of the previous week). I quickly went home again before I could be roped into working my day off. :evil/mad :thumbdown

It's an undocumented thing that occasionally happens but not that often.

Stupid manouvre in the first place, however you can’t smack someone’s van. Then he shouldn’t have chased him.

But couldn’t stop laughing
