Amazon delivery driver loses part of finger in letterbox

An Amazon driver had part of finger sliced off in customer's letterbox. Amazon don't seem too concerned:

This is obviously awful, but a couple of things in the article made me chuckle.

A couple of times he says "it feels like a piece of me is missing"....yes, mate, literally, that'll be the top bit of your finger.

He says how the injury is life changing and the first thing he laments is holding a playstation controller, ha ha. Priorities, mate, priorities.

And I love how the article attempts to make us feel sorry for the homeowner, frantically scrubbing at the blood on her driveway. The delivery guy also missed a Carry On opportunity to say something like, "hello, love, I'm afraid I left the tip of my finger in your box."

In all seriousness, I hope he's all right and gets some recompense out of Amazon.

I trained a new entrant and he lost his thumbnail on the letterbox but the nail went on their doormat so I have always wondered what they thought when they got home
