Kinda worried

Post by dodobirdsralive »

Hi, I live in South East London/Kent. I've ordered a few items (off eBay) and an iPod from Amazon, yet nothing seems to turn up at my address! I went to the local post office, they guy said he can't tell me whether the package is there or not!

The iPod was dispatched on the 17th of last month, and I ordered some games off eBay a couple of weeks ago, first class. Still not here!

This is a joke. Can anyone tell me when I can expect these parcels? As 'Royal' Mail have really let me down on this one. :so there

Cheers,
Ash.

I'm from where you are and depending on your postcode there is a backlog of about a month.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Hi fella, sorry your gear hasn't turned up, I'm sure your pretty well brassed off with Royal Mail at the moment. Nothing I can do to get you the gear any faster but I will just say this; If Royal Mail had just offered us all the normal annual payrise without the 20+ strings attached to it, you would be sitting there enjoying your ipod and stuff. It's no consolation, I know, but the Posties are a decent set of guys just standing up to what is very, very wrong

Cheers

Hi, thanks for all the answers. I know you posties are all nice guys, and thanks very much for the help. If you beleive what you're doing is truly right (I don't understand/follow the whole thing, forgive me!) then go for it! Fight untill you get what is right. I'm all for fair treatment.

POSTMAN, I'll eargerly be waiting for the details tommorow! :Very Happy

Sorry, not much extra to report apart form Managers and casuals are doing stuff down there and Postes are doing extra as well.
The backlog is still big but it's getting done quicker than what it has been.
Not much help i'm afraid but more is going out than what is coming in.

Thanks POSTMAN, help appreciated. Do you think you'd be able to estimate how long it will take for the backlog to be cleared, or how long it will be untill my packages arrive?

Cheers,
Ash. :Very Happy

dodobirdsralive.

You say that Amazon Super Saver Delivery is delivered by Royal Mail.

You are correct most of Amazon items are delivered by Royal Mail, but TNT are responsible for collecting the items from Amazon and bringing them to Royal Mail. I have recently made purchases from Amazon and as far as I am aware they only use Royal Mail for the guaranteed next day delivery. Have you contacted Amazon or received a conformation of dispatch?

Judging by TNT's recent track record I should make a few enquiries with them. ( Maybe the Police have come across your items whilst searching for a few other discs).

Ok here's the deal and no doubt you will probably know bits of it by now anyway.
EVERY packet in SE28 has been 739'd(While you were out cards)
Chances are you would of recieved one,you CAN NOT have it redelivered, you will have to go and pick it up.
But be prepared for a long wait as they are all over the place and there is no extra staff on.
I've heard they have done this to several thousand packets
PostCon have given the green light to this and apparently it is in several offices in London.

This really is bad practice!!! :evil/mad
