Hi, nope, not got mine yet.

You'll see from earlier posts that there's some question over whether Capita are going to issue them or not.....

"...and there is even a reluctance to issue the pension increase letters. They think it will reduce the workload but they’ll find out the hard way that members will be on the phone asking when the letters will issue, and then another querying how the calculation was made .....I ask that when members have problems they let me (and NFOP HO) know asap. " .....That's from John Hearn of the NFOP.

But from looking at some posts on the other threads on this Pensions board it looks like Capita may now have decided to send them out - all seems a bit random at the moment. Hopefully folk will post a note on the threads when/if they get a notification.

If Capita don't send out the letters I think their switchboard will be busy

And John Hearn will have even more "feedback" for them when he next meets with Capita

I and Beamish Stout, plus a guy at my sorting Office who has only just started his pension got both the pension increase letters in early April. One from the original RM pension service centre. And the Capita one. However their are a number of retired postmen on my walk who as far as I can see have not received theirs yet.

Hi guys,

No pension increase letter for me either! (should we be surprised?)

I did get my payslip the end of March with the correct tax-code on though and my rebate (you were spot on N60 :thumbup ). Had a letter from my MP with a letter of apology full of bull from the Cabinet Office. They did however contradict everything they and Capita had told the National Federation of Occupational Pensioners ("some one-off issues" have strangely turned into 'the many of us affected' and 'Capita experienced a number of operational issues' by their own written hand - which
impressed me ha-ha) so I've informed John Hearn and my MP about this blatant contradiction from them.

I've had contact from John Hearn and he is in conference with the Cabinet Office and Capita 1st May. He has acknowledged that there is a whole litany of unacceptable treatment from Capita on this thread and has thanked us for drawing it to his attention.

Still nothing from the Ombudsman and no reply from Debra Sopper from the Cabinet Office or the NAO - seems the norm these days it seems.

Keep posting guys :thumbup

That looks like 2.2%, nice :dance ...... looking forward to getting that, assuming it appears. Though the actual % depends on the scheme I think , the old Section B gets CPI rate and Section C RPI rate as far as I understand it.

Just wondering about sending an email to Richard Kirwan asking if/when the (my) PI letters are/will be issued, just a little nudge, I'll see what this week brings first. Will post if any news/developments.

PS, have asked around a few ex-colleagues, all Capita administered pensions, and no one got a letter yet so it seems a bit random how they're being issued :confused

I phoned for my pension illustration middle of February as I was coming up to 55, phoned again 6 weeks later and then again last week. Continually fobbed off telling me they are chasing it up. I am so frustrated and distressed by it. I have read most of this and see it is an ongoing thing and I am not alone. I have taken the advice on here and emailed the CEO today and hope I can get somewhere. Any more advice would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear of yet another having issues with Capita. Hopefully you will have heard from their CEO Jon Lewis by now, but it is Easter and he could be on holiday. Most of us got a reply from him but also try emailing Richard Kirwan (details posted earlier and about the only other person at Capita to reply). Sometimes both need a couple of prompts. I wouldn't bother phoning or emailing enquiries as we have all found them to be totally useless.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though and most of us know exactly what you are going through over this. I think we all eventually got our pensions. Also try not to let it get you down too much as your health is the most important thing - focus on other things and limit your time spent on Capita. Perhaps you could also email John Hearn at the Federation of Occupational Pensioners (posted earlier -he is fighting our corner as part of the governance team (a bit like a school governor) and I'm sure he will be infuriated that people are still having problems. They did seem to be finally turning a corner and there seemed to be a 'cooling-off' of complaints but I still have very strong doubts about them. Keep posting your experiences as it helps others, and good luck.

Thanks very much for your kind words. Taking advice on here actually worked. Having emailed Jon Lewis I got a very fast reply from Richard Kirwan and the figures were emailed to me the next day. It was amazing after waiting 2 months. I do have one or two questions about it all though so will have to phone Capita next week, before I send the forms off.

Good news Panda64 :Applause :Applause Really pleased that the info here helped you out.

As you'll have read from the previous posts the Jon Lewis email followed by Richard Kirwan action combo seems to work. :dance

It's just so frustrating though that we have to send emails to the CEO for what should be standard process :arrrghhh But glad you've got a result.

I found with my follow up questions that if I sent them to Richard or copied him in when sending to other folk that things got sorted.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Good news Panda 64 and Easter Greetings- pleased you finally got a reply. The CEO and Richard Kirwan do seem on the ball and offer us all a glimmer of hope. It's odd though that they do seem perfectly happy enough to be sorting things that should have already been done by their staff - not really a job for the CEO and management. It also seems that Capita's 'number of operational issues in the first two months' (quote from the Cabinet Office) are continuing into month seven (sums it all up). Keep us informed as to your progress.

Hi guys,

Easter greetings to all.

Quick update from me. As I'd had no reply from Debra Sopper from the Cabinet Office and still nothing from the Ombudsman after my caseworker had said they were looking for compensation for me - seven weeks ago (it's now more than four months since I first contacted the ombudsman), I decided to email Debra Sopper again and copied in Karen Wilson (*Karen Wilson seems on the ball along with Capita CEO and Richard Kirwan.)

In my email I reiterated the trouble I'd had with Capita in getting my lump sum/pension. Then I went on about the five months it has taken to get a payslip with the correct tax code and that I was now demanding compensation for the on-going stress caused.

I received an immediate apology from Karen Wilson, confirmation that my demand for compensation was justified and an interim offer of £250 :dance . Pleased but also annoyed that this is not a standard response to everyone who experienced delay and it does seem that you have to "demand" a gesture of good will if you want one! :no no They seem eager to pay out though so they must be on thin ice with all this. I urge everybody that experienced delay to GET YOUR DEMANDS IN guys! You are entitled to, and have the rights to, demand compensation and why should they get away with these 'some/many/number of one-off issues' they keep ranting on about seven months down the line? I think that the only way they will improve is if they are penalised financially.

One day to go before the pension gets paid in with hopefully the annual increase, I was assured last week the letters had been sent out, still nothing. utter bloody shambles. how the hell can we check if we are paying the right amount of tax if we don't know are gross income?
