I really don't understand how this can be legal. He puts profit warnings out and when the share price plummets he buys hundreds of thousands. I don't profess to understand the stock market but this looks like manipulating the share price to me!

It does look bad, him buying just after talking the company down as it were, but we could all buy shares too. His average is still a fair bit higher than current SP, having bought at 3.18 and 2.90 also. Seems alot of money, but for him, he's not even spent his golden handshake bonus yet.

I doubt it under this government who allow these kind of practices so the rich can get richer.

It seems odd that people think that Rico is enriching himself buying shares at a higher price than they are now worth.rambo1 wrote:Us posties own many many more, collectively.cobrakai wrote:It’s a disgrace. He will own the company at this rate

If there is a dividend cut I would expect them to fall below the £2.60 he bought his last batch for.

It's in his contract. He HAS to own £1.28 million shares (200% of his salary) so he has purchased them out of necessity not because he wanted to.

Hi mart I don't think that is correct, I think the article is wrongly refering to the 200% shareholding all executive directors have to retain from their bonus share awards and is nothing to do with personal acquisitions, I have provided a link on the thread above.mart2008 wrote:It's in his contract. Amazing how many people profess to know the ins and outs of Rico's contract when simply misinterpreting market information the business has provided.
Also, bravo to the guy calling him a see you next Tuesday... Stay classy

I didn't think people were that stupid, but they are:
We have a rule: https://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/community/rules.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Now is that to protect "known personalities" because they may be offended - No.
Is it because they are, to use the current idiom "snowflakes". - No
Simply put - its to protect YOU from being sacked for Gross Misconduct.

Using expletives to describe your CEO is most definitely not a wise career move - and with screengrabs being a thing, you are just providing the evidence that will be used in your disciplinary.

KNOWN PERSONALITIES WITHIN ROYAL MAIL AND THE CWU
It is fair to say that those in the 'top jobs' come in for a lot of criticism on this forum, please post constructive criticism and nothing else. Any libellous or slanderous posts will be deleted or amended, in no way should these personalities have any abuse aimed at them, period.

I love all the replies on here,,,people have short memories..When Vince Cable privatised Royal Mail,,he allowed his friends in business to buy preference shares before they went onto the open market and before we were allotted our crumbs from the top table.
His friends in the business community bought their shares,at 3.30,,on the first day,,,on the promise that they would hold onto their shares,,until..'the froth settled',,,and to quote Mr Cable,,'at least 6 months',,,they then sold the shares when they hit 4.55.per share,,within days,,dumping millions of shares back into the pot,,
nothing was done,,or said about that at that time,,why now then the fury over the CEO buying shares when they are at rock bottom?,,isn't that the time to buy shares?..
The problem is that with the share price so low,,a competitor could potentially snap them up,and the Royal MAIL could be split up,,casting aside Parcelforce like a piece of driftwood,,.
