Royal Mail - Christmas Casual 2018 - Pay Rate?

Post by mahrm1 »

Hi everyone,

I have worked for Royal Mail previously as a Christmas casual and I have noticed this year for some reason and I am not complaining but they are paying more than the minimum wage, which is what they usually pay.

Mon - Sat 06.00 - 22.00 £9.50

Mon - Fri 22.00 - 06.00 £11.21

Sunday 06.00 - 22.00 £10.50

Saturday and Sunday 22.00 - 06.00 £11.46

Anyone know why? I thought they would want to pay us as less as possible.

Thank you all for looking at my post.

From what I've heard there is some pay variation between different mail centres
Also, people have mentioned Amazon are paying higher rates this year - I don't know if this is true but might be a factor

"Join us & benefit from our great new pay rates" Yes, so I have noticed! Not as high as London rates but definitely an improvement! But check out the Christmas Casual job pages & some are still only paying minimum wage on day shift.
