Been on the LAT24 duty all week. Comes to Saturday and a newish Lino wanting to make a name for himself says to me oh I need to sweep up the cut offs as well as do my parcels which was going to be a 100 plus mile round trip. Said to him what if i can’t get it done he turn tells me to leave the mail in the van and I’ll pick it up on Monday morning couldn’t believe what I was hearing. So desperate he is to make an impression.

In the end the union rep disagreed with it and it all got left behind.

I can't wait until Christmas when our MC manager brags on TV about all the casuals they've taken on, yet we'll still fail IPS most days. :dance
There is already talk of prioritizing parcels & packets at Xmas this year so expect to be delivering Xmas cards way after they are expected to arrive again.

I wouldn't be surprised if all sequencing gets done during the day time and all night shift mech staff in MCs made to sort packets instead (don't know what they'd do with CSS staff in MPUs)

How was my day - pretty good until I logged in here and saw that some of the kids had decided to act out.

How do you teach them to show respect for people they disagree with. Name calling colleagues and members no matter how low level is still childish.

Total nightmare today. On a notoriously big & parcel heavy duty & even with a loop taken off we still brought back almost half the mail so that we could clear the absurd number of parcels / tracked etc.

Hour and a half over today as we get hit with almost 3 times the mail we would normally get because of problems at Chelmsford.

Norovirus, the winter vomiting bug, is starting to break out already so be careful if touching objects or surfaces others may have touched then touching your mouth or eating food. Don't go into work if you have Norovirus.
