Not going to complain- just want to post my opinions.

Im annoyed.. with Royal Mail.. but i dont quite understand the situation. I understand that if you're unhappy and you're not getting what you deserve, then this seems to be the only way forward, unfortuneately for the customers.

But theres also the customers. I came on here to ask if anyone knows why the mail that has been sent after the strike gets priority over the mail sent during the strike? I've been getting other things, sent 1st and 2nd class, at an average speed, but why should that be sent quicker than stuff that was sent before it..? And even the 2nd class things are arriving. I sent something very valuable, 1st class, 19 days ago, and it still hasnt arrived.. Im very disappointed as i doubt i'll be able to get compensation or anything.

Im just wondering if anyone could clear me up on this.

Royal Mail deliver recently posted mail before the mail in the system over a strike period because & i quote a manager 'once its failed its failed'. It is better for their figures to leave the strike mail as it has already failed where as the recently posted items haven't.

No its not lost(we hope) its still in the backlog,i know its crazy,the items that were posted during the strike should have been delivered first,thats common sense,down to the management at royal mail to sort that out dont you think.

This annoys me as well as we ourselves are also customers and know what can go on at some offices

They will have yorks (cages) of mail stored in the delivery office which they consider 'failed' possibly with dates on,
which they will get around to putting in the system when they can get away with it.

Why not just process and send it though? They cant leave it lying there, thats ludicrus!

Like i said earlier it suits their figures.
They will get around to it, you can only sort & deliver so much. If the office concerned is anything like the one i work in, it will be understaffed as well.

It's always a possibility, but despite what you hear about items getting lost in the post, very few P58 forms get filled in by the public. The old 'lost in the post' excuse if often just that. An excuse from someone who hasn't posted it in the first place.
