Schoolboy error!
But I do it myself.
I was wrong about this too, I assumed that two sets of boxes were together for the shared walks so in reality we had 11 boxes =/ (5-6 D2Ds incl 1 A4 flat from a local home insurance provider along with the usual junk).
All gone now though. Given how vast the task seemed I actually threw a few of them out into the fitting on a couple of days, something which I've never done in my 6.5 months working as a postie
Got asked to move on to a different duty yesterday. Was told I’d be on my own cause they’re both being lapsed. A certain golden child complained cause they didn’t know the walk (they threw a tantrum cause they don’t like the duty).
Prepped and out the door 7.45. First letter posted 8am. Finished 10.25am.
Managers gave me filthy looks on the way out the door. Too busy dipping my feet in the paddling pool to care shortly after.

Bad, we have extreme heat temps here and it's getting hotter. To the point today that on my foot round I nearly passed out, thank god for the lady who's door I was at. She made me sit inside her front room, drink 2 pints of water to bring my levels up. I did manage to finish my round but at a much slower pace. Now tonight I find out that diabetics which I have type 2 sweat more and lose body fluids faster in extreme heat which would have been why my arms and legs were flowing like a river whilst I was being looked after. There's no shade on my route and I am drinking loads of water but I am struggling big time.

We had 9 people call in sick today. Including the long term, that’s 16 people off. An office of 70 or so.
Can't i'm on trial, if I did that I would be blowing my chances.
Horrid heat and humidity, must have drank 4+ litres over the shift since arriving this morning and I'm still quenching my thirst at home with more fridge cooled water.
Only at Royal mail can you have a 7+ week heatwave of temps threatening ~30C and have so little shift adjustment for your staff that are typically outdoors from ~0900 to ~1600.
I'm glad yet surprised, unless I missed the sad news, that we have not had any OPG fatalities in this summer's heat.

A postie died on delivery in Lincoln earlier this week but the circumstances are not confirmed yet.

It's typical Royal Mail though, every January they offer to pay for our flu jabs, WEEKS after the worst of the bugs have infected half the office.
