Death in service benefit

Hi, I've taken my pension at 55. Do we still receive a death in service benefit after taking the pension?

I would have thought that was a question you should of asked before you took your pension/s!

But what you get on death will depend on which section you are/were in, and how long after you take your pension/s that you die.

Take a look at the 'guide to your death benefits in the plan' in the library section of the pensions website.

The 'flexible pension guide' might also be worth a look, as that will tell you all the advantages and disadvantages of taking your pension/s early.

There is no definitive answer as it depends on your circumstances! If you look at the guide I suggested you will see a flowcart, just follow that and you will find out what applies to you.
