Pension at 55

Do you know how long Administration Team take to calculate pension. They told me on Wednesday they had all Information and I would receive quote by Saturday. Nothing received yet. Thanks

I should say that I am no longer working with Royal Mail - I left about 20 years ago. Pension team were waiting for information from HMRC. They have now received all information. I originally applied in February and turn 55 next week

I think it takes 8 weeks I enquired mid April and get my pension in june

Hi Happy Chappies
Was just wondering if anyone can help me I worked for Royal Mail for over 5 years in the early nineties but only paid 4 years pension.
Can anyone tell me what I would be entitled to roughly
I'm 57 now and what would I get if I took anything now.
Thank you in advance as I don't have a clue,Cheers

Virtually impossible to say!

You should have been getting annual statements telling you how much your deferred pension is worth. If you've got your latest one, take off 5% for each year you want to take it before 60 and that should give you a good rough idea.

If you haven't got any statements, I suggest you get in touch with the PSC. Contact details here.

We got the latest edition of Pensions News along with the new plan guide through the post recently. In that it said, we'll be getting our 2018 statements in early October!
