RING Video doorbell
Does anyone know the official policy on these?? Is there even one? Say a customer tells you to leave a parcel somewhere, are you covered if it goes missing?? I speak as someone who doesn't leave anything unless there's a specified safe place.

I would have thought that normal rules apply, don't leave anything ,unless it's a tracked and "Safeplace",is on the item, but then again , who decides what is a "Safeplace", the only truly Safeplace for an undeliverable item ,is the D. O. I imagine But then again, the Callers Office seems to lose stuff with alarming regularity and who, gets the blame?Clashman wrote:Does anyone know the official policy on these?? Is there even one? Wait another 5 mins, then you'll hear "hello? Anyone there?", usually you'll be 2 or 3 doors down the road lolcharliemac74 wrote:Used at least a dozen different ones, never had any response.

more likely you'll still be at the door after trying 3 neighbours, then writing out a 739, then giving the parcel to the 2nd or 3rd neighbour across the road who eventually comes to the door while you are writing out that 739. so you can scratch that, rip it in half and place it properly in your bag where it will not fly out at anytime onto the path along with carefully making sure any rubber bands wont fly out either, for later correct disposal and paper recycling and then fill out a delivered to neighbour card and go back to the original door, and put it through, only to be talked to now by the video doorbell saying theyre just coming and they are just three minutes away if you can please wait.Xr4 wrote:Wait another 5 mins, then you'll hear "hello? I personally use one at home. They are really great especially Ring2 with hd video quality. I clearly display a sticker informing that you are being recorded(video and sound!). I get notification on my mobile usually few seconds after you enter the recording zone(adjustable by user) without even pressing the bell. The problem with these is that they need a strong internet connection and no interference with other devices etc-thats why after you ring the bell it will take no less than 15-30sec for customer to hear it and answer it.Ideally, they need a separate wifi network on your router(guest network with 5ghz)-after that they work much faster:) Also, the video recorded is stored for I think 30days if you buy a cloud service from Ring(£2.5-8/mth).

I don't use them and just knock on the door , I'm not going to explain to someone who is possibly 5 miles away that I'm not allowed to leave items unattended !

Apparently these video doorbells are now John Lewis best seller, I did ring one today but covered it with my mail, the woman eventually answered the door & said "sorry I was looking for my phone to see who was at the door" I don't want you to look for your phone I want you to answer the f'in door!

£75 minimum - I won't be seeing any of these on my estate. They'd rather spend that on a fix, or white lightening.

RING Video doorbell
I've got one, it's great. I can hear the conversation of anyone walking past
A lot of the ones I've rung for work I very rarely get a response so the parcel goes back to the office.

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
