LTB 223/18 - RM/CWU Joint Z-Card on Uniform (Annual Conference)

No. 223/2018

Monday 16th April 2018

RM/CWU Joint Z-Card on Uniform (Annual Conference)

Dear Colleagues,

Further to previous LTB’s issued to Branches by the Outdoor Department on general Uniform matters and the pursuance of Branch motions carried by CWU Annual Conference regarding uniform provision and other related issues.

Branches are advised that Royal Mail will again be having a Uniform Stand at this year’s CWU Annual Conference, from Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th of April.

Additionally, and following a period of discussions with Royal Mail, which also involved the CWU Health & Safety Department, it can now be confirmed that a specific joint Uniform Z-Card for Annual Conference has been produced which will be available to Branches from the Uniform Stand. The Z-Card content covers the main points on how members can self-order uniform, how to order uniform over current entitlement, and how to return items no longer required. A copy of the Z-Card is attached for Branches’ information.

Subject to the feedback given at Conference and further discussions, the aim will then be for a general issue of the Z-Cards to all Royal Mail workplaces for the information of employees.

Any queries to the content of the above, please contact the Outdoor Department, reference 500, email address: outdoorsecretary@cwu.org.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Baulch
CWU Assistant Secretary

That's all well and good, except when you end up waiting 6 weeks plus for replacement footwear, despite them being ordered by lino as current pair are down to fresh air on the soles...

Might be worth asking the lino to check to see if the reginal person who authorises orders has cancelled the order
