But at what cost did 55'000 sell out for their pittance in pay as our pensions will be inferior and our working conditions will be worse all this change in culture talk is just that talk is cheep as is this agreement to ROYALMAIL! may those who voted for it be the one's who suffer the most for that is my take on this agreement as everyone will suffer for a few pound's more whilst we all lose thousands of pounds's what a great deal that was!

Can anyone confirm what the 5% back pay is on. I assume it's just basic pay and not RRIS or delivery supplement?

Everyone going on about how because the people who voted yes have ruined it for everyone else. I aint retiring in a good 30/35 years. There are going to be plenty more negotiations and plenty more chances for RM to do me over. So why not get a nice city break out of it?

personally hope nobody suffers but to wish ill on fellow workers is very strange to say the least. just because they have different opinion's to your's.

What happens to the pay increase in April ? Paid from October to March at the end of April ,call me picky but as one who has had OT payments with held "cos it's only 12 minutes" you can understand my collective concern .

It is on basic pay and delivery supplement. Not RRIS as the criteria for that pay was set in 1987 and was based on when it was difficult to recruit and difficult to retain and most places who receive RRIS are no longer like this today.

I would like some clarification on this too. The way I read it means no pay rise or back pay for April 2018.
And being even more cynical is it backdated from October to beginning of March or end.

chances are not many posties will physically survive another 30/35 years in the job

I should of known better than to doubt the union getting us a great deal & falling for any underhand RM tactics.

It is still really difficult to get replacements when posties leave or relocate elsewhere. We have been trying to fill two full time & one 4 day position in our D/O for months & months and have just filled the second full time job. Two posties from elsewhere transferred in for the two full time jobs. I get the impression most people who apply who are not already posties can barely read & write. There is a real problem in this country with people not wanting to work anymore hence so many immigrants coming in to do so many different types of jobs. Meanwhile we paying 1.5 million people to sit on their a**** and watch TV.

Guess you work in the South then? Jobs up North are not difficult to fill, but the bigger problem is management not accepting that they need more staff to do the job.
