Bank Holiday - Question

Hi everyone,

I work as a reserve postwoman. I'm on a 20 hour contract and do 5 days a week. I have a different day off every week. Next week, surprise surprise....I have Friday as my day off, so am working Mon-Thurs and Saturday.

Am I right in thinking that I should have day off in lieu or claim overtime for work done next Saturday? If so, I am feeling a little bit peeved as managers have not mentioned it to me.

Yes quite right. You should have the option of whether you want the day off added to your leave entitlement or get paid the day overtime.

Apparently our DSM is instructing DOMs to refuse "bank hol excess" overtime (because Easter sneaks just inside the financial year end?) and any OPG affected will be given a lieu day, despite the national agreement!

Rep is on the case, but how long will this take to resolve and how long will affected OPGs have to wait for potentially ~15.5 hours overtime pay?

Anyone know how many BH you get for anything other than the 5 or 2 day

I am on 20hr contract but work 4 or 5 days a week
My holiday entitlement is 90hrs or 22.5 days so I guess I am on a 4 day week 4x22.5=90

Any ideas?

Just wondering.
I am on leave next week. Monday is a Bank Holiday.
As I am on leave, am I entitled to another day off in the same way as if my rest day fell on a bank holiday?
Have asked two managers.... didn't know.
I am on 24 hours contact..4 day week.

If you work a 4 day week you are entitled to 8 bank holiday days.
If you have booked a week off & you work a 4 day week you would only take 18 hours (3 x 6 hour days) leave. I am assuming you work 4 days x 6 hours.

To confirm this you can download the people app which will indicate the detail of leave taken & hours remaining.
The Public Holiday will be underlined in grey & A/L in green.

I spoke to my manager earlier and I won't get anything for Easter Monday

Good Friday week I worked 4 days and also got paid 4 hours for good Friday

Last week I worked 4 days but didn't get anything for easter Monday
