What I don't understand!
Is how can Royal mail afford the new pension if the deal goes through in April CBS one also the CDC one but can't afford the current one?.All these pensions cost Royal mail the same £400m a year.

What I don't understand!
It's not just what they pay into the pension, but also the projected liabilities. The new scheme has less risk and therefore fewer liabilities for Royal Mail.
At least that's how I understand it. Someone will correct me if I have got it wrong.

What I don't understand!
They did say that keeping the old one open could result in costs spiralling to over £1 billion per annum but since they didn't provide any figures or models to back that up I think it should really be taken with a pinch of salt.

its all about profit and shareholdings keep making it attractive for investors at the expense of your terms /conditions and future penswhats not to understand your not putting money aside for your retirement later but fuelling corporate greed now

Well said Hans solo. This is exactly why the t and cs are under attack. All the fat b....s in the city laughing while their bank books go up at the same time as your lapsing.

The major point of these changes is to remove the liability away from RM and onto us -
Not enough pension tough luck not our problem.
Poor choice/wrong fund/enough contributions from you - tough luck not our problem.
Shares crash/zombie invasion - tough luck not our problem.
