4th October
I posted several packets on the 4th of October, which if I remember correctly was the 1st day of the 4 day strike.
None of these packets have yet reached their destination, 2 to Scotland, 1 to Hampshire and 1 to Manchester from Darwen, Lancs.
Am I to expect these to eventually turn up? Is new stuff getting piled up on old stuff? Is the backlog not clear yet?

I don't know, hoever I haven't delivered anything posted before the 10th for a few days now. I expcet your packets are stuck in a corner underneath more recent additions.
We don't have a weekly packet burn so they will turn up eventually. If RM had allowed us to clear the backlog they would be there by now.
It sounds like they will have gone through a major hub like London and as such would also have been affected by the more recent strikes.

That's genius.
I spoke to someone this morning who sent 15 packets on the 4th and they are just starting to get to their destinations, there must be a pile of 3 week old stuff still sitting in our local depot, nice one.

To be fair I think it is a management thing, I doubt the post workers think that post sat for a month while new stuff is sorted is a good idea.Customer wrote:Say no more - it is 360 years old and has not changed - from the horses mouth - your letter may get there in 2009L Tommo wrote:

I guess it's done this way so that management can claim that 95% of the service is running tip top at the expense of a few rather than having all the post delayed while the backlog is cleared.

Delays
Spot on OPTI if you have 100 packages delayed you have 100 cheesed of customers if you clear there mail first and delay another 100 you have 200 cheesed of customers etc if you work it down its easier for RM to get away with pi!!!!!! off 100 than it is to work backwards and cheese of 1000

My missus posted a load on the 11th oct and most of them arrived yesterday the 31st oct.Opti wrote:I think all my packets have now arrived at their destinations.
The longest delayed one I am aware of took 26 days!
I am delivering packets dated back to the 10th ect.
The packet situation is horrendous i reckon it could take till well after xmas for the backlog on everyting to go!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
