To be honest, thought the CWU were against regional pay rates. I don’t work in Inner London, I work in Outer London. And when I don’t do overtime, im finished by 2pm.

There aren't regional pay rates but incentives for working in "difficult" areas.
London weighting, distant islands, difficult to recruit - they all receive an allowance but I think only London has it in the basic pay.

Spot on. Why are people happy to degrade themselves and make excuses for a company that makes millions of pounds of profit off your back but would rather pay shareholders than fulfill their pension obligations. They and others don't care about you, you are an expenses and like any other expense they will do whatever they can to drive that cost down and fill their own pockets. Why can a company not value it's staff and see them as an asset and take them along for the ride? I thought we had turned a corner and would be an example to the rest of the country to stand up and say " they did it why can't we". If this is the best we can achieve with a 90% mandate then we are doomed. It is a long and painful death towards poorer and poorer terms and conditions and i salute anyone prepared to stand up and fight against that.

The public services have been badly treated I agree, but if RM can turn out this deal of the century and it's accepte, look for similar claw back from other workers pension schemes, T&Cs. Don't forget the CWU are a big Union nationally, pass off a crap deal for their long term share holders profit and the others will follow. Our nurses do not need you spouting hard line stories, they need our Support to prevent a sell off like us in RM, then their wage increases will be poor second to pensions and profit for the greedy on the stock exchange. Be wary of your advice Andy51, short sighted and patronising !

Well Andy51 by your user name you will not be working till 67 years of age just because you think it is a good deal not all of us do as for doom and gloom it saddens me when postmen turn on their fellow workers and yet just because I do not agree with you I will not tell ye where to go or where to find gainful employment as a nurse or other fellow undervalued worker!
