At what age can I take remaining pension

Post by shazzbat »

I took EVR from RM last year and I had already taken the bulk of my pension in 2010 before it changed to age 55. I had been in pension from 1978.
In 2010 I was then enrolled into the pension at that time.
Being nearly 60 I was wondering do I have to take the newer pension when I am 60 or is it later 65 or 66.

Many thanks

It sounds as if you're in the RMDCP, managed by Zurich? That does not have an NRA as such, but can be accessed any time after 55.

If you're enrolled into the transitional DC Cash Balance scheme from April, that will have an NRA of 65 and the subsequent CDC will have an NRA of 67. Both of which can be accessed before those ages but with an actuarial reduction.

Yes I think it is Zurich.

If you take the proposed CDC pension at 65, it would be reduced by 10%. But we don’t know when or even if that scheme is being implemented yet!

The current arrangements still apply to the NRA60 and NRA65. You will not lose anything by taking your NRA60 at 60 or your NRA65 at 65!
