The new proposals aren’t really proposals yet, they’re just what might happen based on the mediators report and if RM and CWU agree the way forward. But the latest firm proposals put forward by RM did say that AVC’s would continue alongside the Cash Balance/DC scheme.
As the results of the latest talks on pensions don’t at first glance seem drastically different in terms of what sort of scheme it will be, my guess is that AVC’s probably would continue, particularly during any ‘transitional period’.
