Trying to figure out which combinations of my pension to take at age 60 in three years time , In A/B pension .
Question is does anyone know what would my spouse get after me ? for how long ? thanks .

What is payable on your death will depend on various factors, like whether you've taken both elements of your pension(NRA60 & NRA65) or just one.

Thanks , but there is nothing there about what your partner would get regarding your pension ie I thought it was 50% your pensionable pay , and nothing about
what length of time it would be payable ?

Go to the flow chart and choose the route that best depicts your future retirement plans. Or perhaps try all routes to cater for all eventualities.
If your route ends with ‘goto C’ for example, then you get this:

A pension payable to your spouse or civil partner at the same rate as your pension for the first 91 days after your death and then calculated as follows:
Up to half the NRA 60 benefits that you were receiving at the date of your death; plus
Up to half the NRA 65 benefits that you were receiving at the date of your death.

I think you’re correct to say that the amount of time a spouses pension is paid out isn’t mentioned, but it would be paid for the rest of their life.

Section B 50% for life (with extra money if you die a short while after you retire)
