I didn't receive a item I ordered on the 15th and today I have been given the tracking number from the seller. According to the tracking number the item was delivered to my hometown DPO and it states a delivery was attempted. That same day the mail was then sent to Birmingham Mail Center and then straight to the National Returns Center and is being returned to sender.
Anyone know why this would happen?
I can also confirm I was in on the 16th when the delivery was supposedly attempted and nothing was left by my postie to indicate I had a item undelivered.

Without the tracking details or sight of the parcel, it's difficult to say with any certainty.
The most likely reasons are damaged parcel, incomplete address or possibly restricted goods.

You can if you want but I am just for a RW matter.
However, you can just post the output if you want without the tracking number - that may help. Gives others the chance of helping as well

I would suggest that the item was incorrectly addressed. The postie has attempted delivery at the address on the item and the householder there as "not known at this address". This happens sometimes, it can be as simple as getting one digit of a door number wrong / added in error / missing in error. Only yesterday, I returned an item to an online shop, the parcel had my address on it* but I had never heard of the addressee.
You mentioned a seller: you have a contract with them to get it to you in the time contracted. Whether RM did their job correctly or not is not relevant to this. Make sure that you have given the seller a totally correct address then take it up with them.
*Well, sort of: where I live, the flats have letters, but this had a flat number. My flat was the nearest match.

BTW the seller should have put a return address on the item, and if they had, it would have gone straight back to them. So it is entirely the sender's fault that the item is languishing in the NRC.

The time from Delivery Attempted to At delivery office suggests to me, that the address wasn't recognised, they can be quite strict on that for Special Delivery.
The sender may need to contact RM Customer Services to get a better idea.

Thanks for the answers guys.
If the seller did place a return address how long would it take for them to get the mail back?
EDIT: Phoned RM today turns out the seller put a invalid address and that is the reason. They also didn't add a return address. >.<

Taken with the information about the addresses, this seems to be all the seller's fault, so claiming a refund is define, and perhaps some poor but factual seller feedback?
