Yes, it can take weeks: you won't be told that you've past the interview, you'll just get email requests for vetting details from Human Resources, after you pass vetting you'll get a letter of offer and then a date for induction. Wear T-shirt and Jeans to induction bore; wear polo shirt, sports shorts, trainers to first day in depot (fleece if cold that day, take water bottle and biscuits). Always take a pen to anything involving Royal Mail work.

Cheers for the tips. It was just they said I should hear by ten days. Seems like a very long time to keep people waiting. I'll sit tight for now!

Applicants for Managers jobs are still waiting for the outcome of their interview, six weeks after being interviewed.

A. How to piss off applicants
B. Applicants for Manager must be mad - haven't they seen their manager in tears because of the stress
C. Plenty of time to reconsider and tell Recruitment to Pee Off because the Manager's Job is crap.

I waited 2 weeks before I heard I had passed the interview but did not get the job and was put on the waiting list. 1 week later I got a call offering me the job I originally applied for and am waiting for a start date (security check stage is taking a while). The process does take some time (I had interview in early August).
