My day yesterday was considerably improved by handing in my notice. I'm one of the part timers that actually want to do a part time job and aren't after overtime. Sadly the unrealistic expectations of RM about what can be achieved in 5 hours (minus a break) have made a pleasant job unbearable. Couple that with being buggered about not knowing which DO I'm actually meant to be working in and it's bye bye RM
Best wishes to everyone out there pounding the streets and I hope that the RM proposals on the table get kicked into the long grass.

Had work time learning.
If I hear "you have the best jobs in the industry" or "by a country mile" just one more time, I will scream!
Our jobs are s**t. Royal Mail have worsened our terms and conditions continously over the last 20 years.
The job, our pensions, used to be great.
Neither, are anything to write home about today, even before these proposed future attempts to make both even worse.

As a fresh face I'm on lighter duties, Tuesday was a breeze, today came hard almost an hour longer than normal due to every parcel needing pissoff sheet. Pain in back 8, feet situation 7, tiredness 9 despite 10hours sleep, but most of all I won't take shite from the pre-fects.. Done that b4 won't do again

Pretty cool considering a WTL that would have pissed me off no end if I had attended, reasons follow.. Apparently our DM has moved duty starts to 07.15 saying that it takes 15 minutes to load up and we should just chuck it on and sort it out when you get there.
I've been starting at 07.15 for over a year now and I have a 45 minute drive to my first stop as well as having one of our larger customer's returns department and head office as one of my daily stops, sometimes up to 70 items. It takes me up to an hour to load every day (usually longer because of double decker trailers late or breaking down and not dropping the top load for tipping) and I have to load my vehicle that is usually crammed to the gills with a load in order of drop. I make my own manifest every night and use the printed one for 2D alerts, the REX system wouldn't work for an intense route. It's like you lot on letters being given a bag of post and told to get on with it, sod your frame, but that's just Friday night rambling.
We've had yet another repick announced and I've had 15 minutes added to the end of my duty for no reason at all, if you're gonna give me more time then do it when I need it, in the f**king morning!
Anyway, have a pleasant long weekend people

So I'm out on the walk, I did my lapsing first, my choice... and I get the call " you've left some tracked behind"
But I ALWAYS check my bag as I leave I thought. Anyways someone comes out with the four items...ALL TRACKED which is strange. My colleague (trainer) looked really pissed off at me...
"you need to check your bag before you leave"
But I did check, I always check it.. he didnt believe me and just stormed off as if I'd been round his house and pissed on his kids.. So now he's ignoring me at work..WHAT A BALLBAG.. I know I've been setup by a manager, it's not the first time
THAT'S WHY I ALWAYS CHECK MY BAG!!
Not a good day then

Today was eventful to say the least. Had a load of bigwigs down from their ivory towers for a meeting. However they didn't look too impressed with the fact we still had over 10 York's of tracked left to sort at 9.10. Still tried to lapse 5 walks though
obviously these went nowhere so they called in a load of linos from other offices and they were still delivering when I went home at 6pm after my collection. All in all quite a fun day if you like seeing management suffer!

my buddy walk never went out yesterday, got in today and told by lino i will be taking both walks out, i stated it was a unmanageable worload with the excess packets and frame busting with mail. in the end left half on that walk and took out the other walk and left some parcels. ther emust have been 4 or 5 walks thay have not gone out for a day or 2. this is the way forward though.
