Hello. I'm searching for more detailed information regarding something I've posted a week ago to Brazil and apparently hasn't left the UK yet. It is a very important document as it contains the proof of my European citizenship and I need it to get to my family or to get back to me otherwise I'll have to leave the UK. All I've got is this message:
Your item, posted on 28/06/17 with reference RZ......... has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas.

Where's my parcel?? International centre??
If the mail gets stuck at that stage it often indicates that Royal Mail *suspect* there is a problem with the contents and further checks are happening. Once they are sure it will either be sent on or sent back.
One possible problem: Brazil now has by far the longest list of restrictions I have seen for any country's mail service. It is possible that you have fallen foul of one of their vast list of rules (I had a look myself, but really, it's impossible) or that there is a long wait while RM check if you have fallen foul of the rules.
Second possible problem: did you put anything else in the package with the document you mentioned? I would be wary of sending anything other than documents to Brazil now I have seen their prohibitions & restrictions list.
Third possible problem: what service did you use exactly? Passports are banned from at least one RM Group product (PFW Global Express), this might just have fallen under those rules.

Where's my parcel?? International centre??
Thanks a lot for your quick feedback. Answering yor questions: what I have sent is not a passport, but a document froman Itali court recognising my family as Italian citizens. The only other object that was sent along with it is my birth certificate, so we are talking about two pieces of paper and nothing more. Do you know if these type of documents are in the list? Would they do further checks on them?
Thanks again. I really appreciate your help on this matter

I had a look through the *general* prohibitions & restrictions and I did not see anything like that, but it is an enormously long document (follow this link and click the two buttons at the bottom of the page):
http://www.royalmail.com/brazil" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As for checking, they will only check that it is allowed in to Brazil or not, that's the only question that needs answering.

Where's my parcel?? Royal mail does not have it in system.
Hi there, this is the first time I'm mailing something to UK. The destination is Scotland and I'm mailing from Canada. I have shipped a set of hand made bead bracelet and necklace to my customer with declare value of £60. It was mailed on July 14, arrived at "GBlala" on the 18th, and since then no more update (it's July 27 now). Usually with parcel from out of country our Canada post will have it in the system even before the parcel has arrived to our country. I think it is the same for USPS. I tried to contact royal mail regarding to locate the parcel but they said they do not have it in the system, even though it is in their mail distribution centre ? (It says gblala is their mail distribution centre) so basically right now the parcel is I'm uk but does not exist for them to be able to trace it? I find it hard to imagine and more so very hard to explain to my buyer, where is her parcel? Right now I have no way to contact any institution as none has any answer, please help.
Thank you.
Laina
Thank you.

Like most national postal systems, Royal Mail do not show an item as being in the country until it has cleared customs. GBLALA is a site owned by Royal Mail but at least part of it is rented to our customs authority. Your parcel is almost certainly stuck in customs there.
The delay might just be the normal randomised deeper checks but there are also a number of issues which can happen with parcels like this. The first is the description on the customs form: if there are no precious metals or stones in the jewellery then the best description is "costume jewellery". Other descriptions could cause it to be stopped for examination. Secondly, if this is Native American-type jewellery involving animal bones or feathers then again, delays are likely while extra examinations take place.
There is no organisation that answers customer questions on this.
