BULLETIN #04
ROYAL MAIL’S SENIOR MANAGEMENT
We believe the Royal Mail Group board are now imposing a new culture.
Senior managers are jumping ship or being pushed leaving the business one after
the other, as the board drive a short-term, extreme cost-cutting, maximum profit
agenda.
They want to get pensions off the balance sheet and down dial terms and conditions
for Royal Mail Group employees and CWU members.
They want to reduce the influence of the CWU and free themselves to put greater
pressure on workers to achieve maximum shareholder returns.
In respect of who you should trust, don’t just judge it on the information coming
out, judge it on the way you are being treated in the workplace and you will see the
answer.
IT’S TIME TO CHOOSE SIDES.
CHOOSE THE CWU OR FOREVER ACCEPT LESS

Very impressive talk as always - when are we going to get a strike vote? Things are getting ridiculous with summer lapsing/cutting off/threats as well as all the unpalatable proposals from RM regarding pay, pensions, allowances etc etc. We were due a pay rise 3 months ago and still nothing, meanwhile the workloads increase and all the union does is issue bulletins about subsection x, clause n blah blah people are ready for action NOW!!!

Are the union even doing anything about our wage rise? The only talks I hear of are for The Post Office. It's looking as though they're going to agree a no pay rise as part of their bargaining tool for all the other crap RM has come up with. Either that or RM are dragging their heels to make us forget we were even due one.
The pay rise is linked to inflation, so are the almighty going to freeze the prices on utility bills and food until they decide if we're worthy or not???

The Pay Offer is tied up with all the other issues on pay , pensions , removing legacy payments , monthly pay , reductions in sick leave , new starter terms and conditions , start times going 2 hours later and changes to the pipeline.
On the Pay Offer Royal Mail have offers based on the CWU accepting all the above changes and Delivery and Mail Centre trials the following 3 Year deal.
Year 1 a lump sum of £250 and 30 minute reduction of the working week in the 3rd quarter of the year.
( No Pay Rise )
Year 2 that offices will deploy the results of the trial and providing every office in the whole of the UK achieves above 3% improvement in Weighted items Per Gross Hour the effirency measure which Royal Mail have agreed with Of Com than you will get 50% of this improvement i.e. If it is 3% you will get 1.5% pay rise
year 3 is the same offer based on 50% of the WIPGH improvement providing every office gets above 3%
The union has rejected this offer.
Let's be clear the Unions policy is if we cannot get an acceptable agreement by August we will be balloting the members for
Industrial action. The new Laws will mean that this will take about 4 weeks and than the new requirement is that we have to give Royal Mail two weeks notice of Action which ties in with the September and October dates.
Just to add we are miles and miles and miles apart.

So bearing in mind the clock is ticking can we look forward to "ballot postponed to allow for more talks" because "progress" has been made and we're only miles and miles apart?dingo wrote:Just to add we are miles and miles and miles apart.
Don't you think that the reason we are so far apart is because the business doesn't believe the union has the balls to call a strike or the ability to produce a mandate for action? Don't you think that the only way they'll make significant concessions is when they've actually had a bloody nose, don't you think that the present negotiations are really just a childish precursor (with posh tea and biscuits) to the real negotiations that will only start when Royal Mail know we are serious, in the meantime the members face insecurity and stress and are constantly fed a small forest worth of bullshit by management.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Of course when you put a date in when there must be a deal there is a tendency to let the talks drift until a week or so too that date.
However the fact that Royal Mail just got rid of their National Director in charge of their Delivery Strategy Gary Burgess and replaced him with Anton Harding not known as an Hawk tells you that Royal Mail need as much from the union for Agreement to change as well as what the union needs.
In terms of the union fearing to ballot I don't see that. Obviously I can only go by the members meetings I have done over 50 in the last 2 months but the members will support the union as they know Royal Mail's Vision of the future is to have a smaller workforce lower terms and conditions , workers employed on worse terms and a poor pension.
The unit Reps meetings which are happening across the U.K. Over the next two weeks is to put every Rep and then the members on a war footing.
Royal Mail at National Level know the union is serious hence the new comms which have come out from Royal Mail.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The guy in question doesn't use social media or email so a letter LTB from hq is pointless. Important issues are communicated by phone for a few in my branch for this reason.POSTMAN wrote:http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 15&t=80308" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Destiny wrote:Came to light earlier that branch couldn't even be bothered to inform local reps of tomorrrows meeting.
