JOINT STATEMENT BETWEEN ROYAL MAIL AND THE CWU COVERING THE OPERATIONAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE MARK 4 YORK
Dear Colleagues
Branches and representatives will be aware that LTB 096/17 provided details of the Terms of Reference between Royal Mail and the CWU Covering the Trial of the Mark 4 Parcel York.
We can now inform you that the trial activity has concluded and it is considered that the Mark 4 York is suitable for use and will provide benefits within the RM operation.
To facilitate the deployment of the Mark 4 York a Joint Statement has been concluded with the business which has been endorsed by the Postal Executive and is attached for information.
The Committee will note that in line with previous agreements the attached Joint Statement provides for continued full CWU involvement in the deployment activity.
The appropriate safety documentation has also been finalised and agreed for the safe use of this piece of equipment.

Yes, indeed, since 1992 we've hardly stopped discussing the differences between the mark 1, 2 and 3, and now 4, Yorks so perhaps now we can turn our attention to pay, workload and pensions.
