Possibly the lightest day I've experienced in at least 5 years, so many instances of no mail for 5+ consecutive addresses, which is normally unheard of on my duty.

Yes,my walk was the lightest I can remember for ages today, less than 1 box of mech and 3 buddy boxes and about 10 Knock-ons.

do you have a union presence at your office ?Smir wrote:busiest Tuesday I've had for a long time, managers telling us we can't cut off, we still have to do our extra bit which is one of the biggest extra bits I've ever seen.
also not allowed to book OT..
joke -.-
if you have too much workload to complete and you cant get it done in time, follow cut off procedure.

Started at 7.15am to a empty frame, got out delivering by 8.30 and finished by 12.15. So a good day
. Hope the mail dies off next week like it did today.

My day was okay actually. Bit boring, but boring is good! Didn't have too many parcels/packets and most people were in.

Easiest delivery day ever (on a full walk). 2hr 50m from pushing HCT out the door to signing out, and that's with a very leisurely walk back to the depot after last drop

I hope you are still giving it the big thumbsup when they start taking more hours out of your office.ArthurPewty wrote:Easiest delivery day ever (on a full walk). 2hr 50m from pushing HCT out the door to signing out, and that's with a very leisurely walk back to the depot after last drop
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It takes as long as it takes mate. Are you advocating that I deliberately arse about to drag it out to finishing time regardless? It was an exceptionally quiet day worth commenting on. I work as hard every day, with heavy mail and lots of packets that round takes 4 hours plus. Today it took 2 hrs 50 mins. Sorry if that's upset youclashcityrocker wrote:I hope you are still giving it the big thumbsup when they start taking more hours out of your office.ArthurPewty wrote:Easiest delivery day ever (on a full walk). 2hr 50m from pushing HCT out the door to signing out, and that's with a very leisurely walk back to the depot after last drop

I am a part timer and I got in this Saturday morning to an unfamiliar frame where the sequenced mail had not even been thrown out. Working with another part timer. After prepping the board it was 10.15. The walk is too long to finish on time even on a good day.
Told manager that I cannot complete. He said you must take all mail. I firmly told him that I will take it all and I will bring back what I cannot complete at my finish time.
Luckily there was a union rep there today so he helped me negotiate leaving two full loops.
Still finished 30 mins late.
Daily battle of the post person.

Well, that one came out of the blue!
After a fairly good calm week we have had the busiest Saturday for ages,90+% call rate,Virgin bulk mailing,British Gas bulk mailing and loads of Tesco stuff also housing association stuff.
Oddly quiet on the packets.
Went about 5mins over so not worth claiming.
Now for a nice evening of Wine and food.

Supposed to be having a WTL on Friday because we're finally getting the new podiums, cancelled because they are going to be late with the delivery...
