Hi all,
I posted a MacBook via SD and added additional compensation to cover the item. Package received by purchaser (via eBay) , stated box has been tampered and MacBook removed and a heavy object in its place. I received package and contents back and raised a claim, which has so far been rejected as parcel weight consistent with original shipping as the response. No interest in evidential tampering as the box was cut on underside and resealed with different coloured tape to mine on the top. I have proof of purchase , SN etc and crime reference and is now with postal review panel as escalations said the same...! What investigations should be done internally as when I spoke to them the interview with local delivery was 3 weeks after the event and not 72 hours. Are special delivery areas under CCTV with any additional security? Are their scales in these areas to check weights of parcels? I am now out of pocket for appx £2000 and have followed what I understood to be an insured for loss, damage and theft and am left waiting for the next panel response. The SN is logged as stolen but I hold no hope in it being found but want to know where I stand for pursuing the claim with RM. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Claim for missing item / tampered parcel special delivery
Sorry to hear that this has happened. Can I ask though, did the ebayer notice immediately that the parcel was tampered with, or was it signed for, and then later that day/next day they claimed it wasn't the macbook inside?

Claim for missing item / tampered parcel special delivery
Hi. It was sent to a company and signed by a different person. He contacted me in the early hours to advise of the said dilemma. He said the box looks as if it's tampered with but I do not believe signed to this effect. Does this make a difference? I have disputes with PayPal and RM ongoing and am stuck in the middle

If say it was more of said person trying to get a free Mac Book plus their money back tbh.
