And that, as they say, is that.

Tomorrow I start life as a pensioner. Fookin’ hell I never thought I’d live long enough to see the day.
I’ve scanned my last barcode, 739’d my last packet and emptied my last postbox.

Am I sad? Am I buggery! It’s wonderful! :nana

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved this job but there is so much more that I want to do.

Given some of the talk on here at present, I can’t help feeling that I’m fortunate to be going now rather than later.

As Morrissey once (almost) sang:
There's more to life than packets you know, but not much more.
Enjoy.

Great, just great. Mayoral election propaganda - love it. Postal vote propaganda - a joy. Carrying out DPF generation between loops - I did cartwheels round the van. Every day is fun filled and gratifying in RM

You have days when the sun shines and your out on your rural delivery, and actually life's pretty good, the banter and fun chat with the customers, lovely scenic views, like a sketch from postman pat, after 36 years getting a bit slower and off the pace but hay ho,you just try to block out the red tape crap and mis management in this company, and forget you saw the guy in before his start time sorting packets after doing his mech tray?!! Then don't worry that the Mail you collected won't go anywhere on Saturday because after the revisions some rounds get back later and miss the 12 o clock lorry, and the town boys have long since gone home !! Oh well maybe this isnt the job for me anymore as my boss said, roll on 60 and I'm gone or earlier evr? Mmmmmm

busiest Tuesday I've had for a long time, managers telling us we can't cut off, we still have to do our extra bit which is one of the biggest extra bits I've ever seen.

also not allowed to book OT..
