You will be a deferred Section C member of the RM Pension plan, and by the sound of it, most of it will be in the final salary part. It will provide a guaranteed index linked income for the rest of your life and is a very valuable thing to have. It will not be affected by any changes that have happened after you left RM and will almost certainly be worth more by keeping it where it is until retirement.sonapuppy wrote:Hello , just a quick query , i was a postman for 11 years and paid about £60 monthly to the pension for 11 years .. till i left 8 years ago , is it possible to transfer my pension elsewhere , ie another fund not linked to royal mail , Also if i can transfer the pension how do i contact royal mail pensions , as i have never received a statement since i left 8 years ago .... In fact the government are now responsible for pension accrued up to 2012, so it’s not really anything to do with RM anyway! It was part of the bribe that facilitated privatisation!
All the info you need will be on the pension website: http://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, pay particular attention to the library section.

Your last annual statement will tell you what your pension was worth at 31/3/2016. It’s not too difficult to work out from the figures what another 2 years will give you.ranger1 wrote:So if you have done 30 years into the pension by 2018.... is that protected and give a good pension when i retire...
RM’s proposals for how your accrued pension will increase post 2018 are different depending on which section you’re in. But all the info is available in the booklet we all received a couple of months ago which is also available to view online here: https://www.myroyalmail.com/pensions/rm ... nsultation" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
