POST OFFICE: NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL ACTION – MONDAY 31ST OCTOBER - THE FUTURE OF THE POST OFFICE, JOB SECURITY AND PENSIONS – FURTHER UPDATE

Dear Colleagues

Further to LTB 624 dated 21st October.

Branches and members will be aware that further strike action will take place on Monday 31st October. Accordingly, we are today serving formal notice on the Post Office for a one day 24 hour strike covering all duties across the whole of our Post Office membership commencing on or after 03.00am on Monday 31st October and before 02.59am on Tuesday 1st November.

Members’ Conference Call – Tuesday 25th October from 7pm – 8pm

A conference call for all of our members employed by the Post Office (facilitated by a co-ordinator) will take place on Tuesday 25th October from 7pm for an hour. A question and answer session will follow an introduction by Andy Furey. The dial-in details are as follows:

Telephone number (UK Freefone) 0800 012 1327

Passcode 205 549#

We will be using all of our communication channels including social media, emails and text messaging to encourage our members employed in the Post Office to take strike action. In this regard a bulletin has been sent to members’ home addresses today emphasising why support for the strike is necessary. A further LTB will also be published in due course regarding activities designed to gain press and media coverage on the strike day.

All Branches are urged to do everything possible to ensure our members support this important strike.

Further developments will be reported.

Yours sincerely
