Sale complete, so where's the money?
I share your frustration TBT.
It amazes me that so many people just can’t be bothered to read the information they’re given, do a search or seemingly use the brains they were born with. If they did that, they wouldn’t be constantly asking the same questions over and over again on these forums.
It’s fair to say that I’m more interested in the serious things like pensions & shares, etc. They can be quite confusing at times and I do my best to help. But I’m a bit gobsmacked by the recent furore on this site about selling the free shares. It’s like watching bees around a honeypot. And a honeypot that’s only 2/3rds full after the tax & NI have been deducted!
Normally only a small number of members venture onto the privatisation/shares threads, but at the first sight of a few £’s everyone descends like vultures in the Serengeti. It’s pathetic really!
How many shares do we have?
How much are we going to get?
How much tax do we pay?
How do I sell?
How do I log on to the Equiniti website?
Why aren’t we getting paid instantly?
Why this, how that.
If you read the info you’re given you’d already know all the answers!
Sorry for the rant, but this site is a great resource for all RM employees. You can find out lots of info that you perhaps wouldn’t find on the shop floor or from official sources. But as far as I’m concerned, my enjoyment of it is being ruined by a minority of people who don’t seem capable of thinking for themselves.

Friday you get your money the 28th that is equitini only sent the completed sale on Wednesday which means you missed the cut off time Tuesday too be paid this week.macthejaffa wrote:Checked my equitini online statement and it now says the sale is complete so I'm now wondering where the money is as someone has stated here today that it'll be at least the 4th November before we get it?
So who's bank account is all this money sitting in for at least another fortnight?
Surely now the sale of those who sold theirs on day 1 is complete it should be paid to us at the very earliest convenience?
I am keeping mine I think you have to pay tax and insurance which will reduce the payment by 32 %

For anyone waiting for their money from shares sale [i sold mine, know what I am getting, not when]
i phoned payroll today, after asking my manager had he heard anything about the payout date for 1st week sellers [surprise surprise,he knew nothing].When you phone payroll it tells you if you have any questions about the sale you should go to the Equiniti website but the lady
who I spoke to said as far as she knew RM hadnt set a date for the 1st payouts, which goes against everything it tells you on the Equiniti website.
Anyway I know people say you have waited long enough whats another couple of weeks,It just bugs me that if what the payroll lady said is true,RM can sit on our money until they see fit.
I am not trying to piss off anyone who is desperately waiting for their money, and if someone has different info than above thats great

Be a shame if you did give up because a few folk can't be arsed to do a search, just imagine Equinti help lines would probably crash for days with the amount of calls they would get from people waiting for their money,so really you are doing a great service
For we were soldiers once, and young

I'm wondering what it will be like in 2 years time when the other 90% sell, will the shares be worth over £3? will we be owned by DHL,TNT,DPD or even Hermes? Will Equiniti want them back? I'll sell mine in the new year and lose the £950 or so , it is still a great bonus , even if we didn't get a productivity bonus scheme they promised us.

When the 6 hour delivery's come in and half the staff are gone by IHR or just leave the shares will not be £3 but £12 and thats without firing 75% of the piss poor managers or the sale of most of the land properties and not paying into the pension scheme!HarryPoorer wrote:I'm wondering what it will be like in 2 years time when the other 90% sell, will the shares be worth over £3? will we be owned by DHL,TNT,DPD or even Hermes? Not planing on selling mine ... ever! Whichever firm of solicitors ends up liquidating my estate can deal with that particular problem.HarryPoorer wrote:I'm wondering what it will be like in 2 years time when the other 90% sell, will the shares be worth over £3? will we be owned by DHL,TNT,DPD or even Hermes? Don't worry TBT, you do a great job on this site and you are appreciated by many using it. Of course you are correct; people selling shares really should read everything on the Equiniti site to understand what they are doing. It is,after all, a lot of money we're dealing with here.
In my case, I sold my shares because I needed the money for a new boiler. No boiler = no heat for kiddies in the winter. Therefore it came at just the right time for me.
For the first posters info, after your shares are sold, Equiniti will send you a letter confirming the sale, the price your shares were sold for, gross amount the shares made, and the gross price minus the selling fee. Mine were sold on the 19th, I got the letter on the 20th and I'm expecting the money in my wages next week (minus tax and N.I.). Hope this clears it up for some.

So who's bank account is all this money sitting in for at least another fortnight? Are you really that bothered about losing interest on your (after deductions) £2000 ? Even at interest rates of 0.25% per month, that'd be about £4.65... less tax, of course. Yet by selling, you're happy to throw away a grand, and £271 in dividends that you won't now get ? I've seen someposts on here, but that is about the maddest one yet

Sellers of all other listed companies have to wait 2 working days for settlement (payment). Royal Mail can't be expected to run an entire payroll process for the benefit of the small minority of people who are selling their shares !!![]()

But if you need money now, why not sell? Better than paying high interest rates on debts, surely?wandle wrote:macthejaffa wrote:Checked my equitini online statement and it now says the sale is complete so I'm now wondering where the money is as someone has stated here today that it'll be at least the 4th November before we get it?

If someone has debts of 2k, they'd have to be with a loan shark, to incur £959 in interest in 2 years!!!tansorboy wrote:But if you need money now, why not sell? To be totally honest I can't say I'm surprised by the amount of people not doing their own search, reading things or using their brains. They are after all Royal Mail employees, no one could accuse them of having a great amount of intelligence. Probably all of them voted Brexit as well!

Ok here's one for you all I've been informed by a person who works high in HMRC office that you only pay tax on shares from 4.89 to current selling price anyone knows this to be true
