That wasn't just brutal, but cruel and inhumane. Over 30 degrees yesterday and Royal Mail decides it's a good time to pick for the heaviest day this summer by far. Utter bastards.

Yes. Had a few heavy days in our office and the heat is taking it's toll. They are still persisting with lapsing. Sooner or later someone is going to be seriously ill.DirtyHarry wrote:That wasn't just brutal, but cruel and inhumane. They seem hell bent on committing corporate manslaughter. Working conditions in this godforsaken company are the worst I've ever endured in almost 40 years of working. People in my office, myself included, are definitely feeling the effects of chronic fatigue. Somebody is going to have a serious accident out on delivery, only a matter of time, mate.heapsy wrote:Yes. Had a few heavy days in our office and the heat is taking it's toll. About bloody time our bloody useless Union pulled their bloody fingers out, and did something about improving the lot of the postie out on delivery.

I wouldn't mind so much if the conditions were not too bad IN the office. Ours is like an oven. A warehouse with no windows to open and no air con. At the mo we have managed to disable the alarm so we can have two fire doors open at the back. Complete joke. We go out in warm vans and get baked all day.DirtyHarry wrote:They seem hell bent on committing corporate manslaughter. Absolute nightmare, 6 trays of mech full of council letters and 3 bags of packets. Out at 10.15 and back at 4. Cream crackered.

Still very warm and sticky. Tired every day and cannot sleep at night. Doms got a face on him every day because they didn't get the indoor revision right last time.

They've just replaced a third "lamp" type mailbox on my round with another of these horrible new "tinny" ones. There was nothing wrong with the old ones, so why are they being replaced, and where are the old ones going!?

I think after this week I can safely/legally/truthfully say that the Line Managers in OL would probably be incapable of running a bath ....
"We're under model" - oh no we're not - stick your lapse elsewhere ...

Busy day with a row of another walk on top. Been busy all week, so I think that's it now, until we come up for air on xmas eve.

Yes it is normal. Most of it should be thrown up but you will be expected to finish off the prep. If you are going over your hours you can always cut off just make sure you let the management know well in advance!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?
