In a Utopian world, I would agree. However, in the corporate world when Customers are the one that generates profit, and the workers and final recipients are where most of the costs lie, that's never gonna happen.

Me neither, can someone change it to a PDF file, so we can all have a look.

I prefer to read about stuff myself rather than listen to Gossip.

If you are HGV then you are Network, Distribution or Processing. (probably Network)

Deliveries is the pointy end where we put bits of paper through holes in doors :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Shame it's not across the board....the whole lot needs a good shake up! The Royal Mail need to show how much they value their workforce, it's shocking what goes on sometimes. Let's hope the Union can overlook these changes and embrace some of the promises that are much needed in today's world....sorry I'm yet to be convinced !!!
Thank you for your reply in clarifying my question.

Slightly off topic but quite relevant to these later starts / finishes, I was walking around today desperately trying to find some shade before I keeled over and died. I huddled down behind a hedge on the punters drive while I wrote out a 739. I know we don't get many hot days but when the advice from the authorities is to stay out of the heat and they want us out later and in hotter times it is a matter of time before they are up on corporate manslaughter charges when some one drops dead.

This is a very relavant point to raise.....I believe there is no legislation in place to protect an employee from working in high temperatures, like the 30 degrees plus we have had over the last couple of weeks. I believe legislation only applies to protecting people that are working in low temperature conditions..,..your only hope is you have seniority status then in the event of any changes you won't get the crap duties anyway otherwise unfortunately nobody else really cares not even the union to which we all pay in to !

Heard this week that some areas are still doing the old 2 deliveries and have never heard of park and poop. :arrrghhh

If its true the whole system is laughable.

Its true, Huddersfield is still only minimally on P&L. I still deliver by pouch. We were meant to one of the first but they can't use the current DO and they haven't been able to get a new one either. Even brought in PWHC and they couldn't organise it either.

Chewster wrote:Why is it they want to make us 9-5 (ish) ? I think the current hours of the job is probably one of the things that draws people in to work for RM. I'd prefer an even earlier start to 9-5, but I wouldn't mind....except on a Saturday. I can see a lot of people leaving if they're expected to work 9-5 on a Saturday. And as someone has already said, we'll be claiming a lot of overtime for sitting in traffic.

The company want to offer a next day delivery on more products as the majority of online shopping is made between 5pm and 11pm. Our current shift patterns don't allow enogh time.
