LONDON (Alliance News) - Royal Mail PLC said Chief Executive Officer Moya Greene bought 5,074 shares at a price of 489 pence per share Tuesday.


Greene now holds 8,936 shares.

The stock closed up 2.0% at 479.27p Tuesday.

It is a gesture, nothing more , nothing less.
Company directors showing the market that they have confidence in their own ability to steer their ship. It does not matter that this is loose change to her.. If it goes tits up we end up working harder to claw it back for her.

This rudderless ship will sail no matter what...... unless the the runners and arse lickers at the end of the chain pull the plug.

Given that in general you would expect a company's share price to drop by the amount of the upcoming dividend immediately after the ex-dividend date they won't actually have gained a penny in the short term from doing this.

As it happens I bought some Royal Mail shares in the past couple of weeks, albeit not in the same sort of quantities. It wasn't "pure greed" in my case, though obviously I didn't buy them hoping the share price declined to £0.00 either!

They have to spend the money on earning, putting it in the bank doesn't work now due to poor low interest rate.
