Our office failed 4 walks today and it disappoints me. Backlog sat there for Monday which will also fail due to mismanagement. Anyone know if anything can be done about this? I don't want to keep working over my hours but I don't like seeing my customers not get their mail either

i can understrand your frustration but its not your problem, the DOM is supposed to be reporting failures where he will get in some bother, but not nearly as much as if he fails to report it and the office is inspected. So, this is the DOMs job not yours. However you could always report it to whoever reads the emails at justsayit@royalmail.com Theres clearly a staffing issue at your office as there are in many others.

That rare annual even happened today... Finished on time on a "short" Tuesday despite some work time learning!

Well, if your office was anything like mine today, I'm not surprised. For the first time in a while, it was a genuinely light Tuesday today. Not much mail and very few packets. Whenever this has happened previously, it has led to a very bad Wednesday.IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:That rare annual even happened today... But mail volume was down?!
Not sure how or where like, but judging by my frame at least 10 in my DO must of had no mail at all, not to mention packet mountains! Manager refused to listen and just kept quoting figures and even dumped another bit of a round on us! Nope we didn't complete not even close!

s**t day. What a poisonous place RM is to work. You shouldn't have to go to work and be threatened and bullied.

Awful day, had to prep 2 duties without knowing frames in the same allotted time, got shifted twice then somebody phoned in sick so ended up being given the choice of a huge van share with no training or a complicated walk with no training. Picked the van share and got out 30 mins late. Me and partner forgot our double lapsing and received a very angry phone call from management. Told them we'd go out with it when we got back. Got back 40 mins past time and went to check frames for lapsing to clear and saw nothing so assumed somebody did it. Went come and got text from partner saying our lapse was placed at the ISP frame and had a pile of tracked packets on it so it didn't get done. The favourites had been and gone an hour early and could of easily done it but management had left before 1 as usual. Haven't been paid my overtime in weeks. Gonna get raged at tomorrow when they see the lapse not done. Can't argue with management, they take you in to office and 2 or 3 gang up on you at the same time. Union rep always off sick. I hate this job :( only 22 should be having fun not dealing with a place like this
