Royal Mail share price rises as group agrees pay deal with workers union

Shares in Royal Mail Group (LON:RMG) have climbed more than one percent in London this morning, as the privatised company reached a pay deal with the Communication Workers Union (CWU). The move is expected to open the door to discussions on pensions and modernisation.

As of 08:32 BST, Royal Mail’s share price had surged 1.04 percent to stand at 535.00p, outperforming the blue-chip FTSE 100 index which has added 0.34 percent to 6,213.20 points so far this morning. The group’s shares have gained just under 20 percent in the year-to-date, as

I read on another site that 12,000 staff left RM last year! Seeing as wages are the biggest cost to the business i cant see it ending there. We will be cut to the bone, plus 6000 of them were union members. Royal mail see part time staff as a way of weakening the union. Good for the shareholders but not for the workers.

They can agree anything with anybody,however,the troops on the ground haven't voted for it yet.......

AGREED !!, dont we have to agree it first ??, oh well at least queen , sorry moya, is getting upto 2.4 million, while we work in concntration camp style DO's.
